Itinerary
Day 1 Nbo-Moshi
- Meet up in Nairobi town at 0500am and road trip to Moshi via Namanga Border.
- Check in at our hotel in moshi & a small tour around town.
- Meet & greet our Tanzanian counterparts.
- Have dinner & retire to bed
Day 2 Moshi-Marangu gate – Mandara hut
- Depart from Moshi, an hour drive (4okms) will take you through the Village of
Marangu to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. - Process permits & routine check in operations
- Experience rain forest & winding trails scenery
- Hiking time: 3 – 4 hours (8 km)
Ascent: 720 m
Max. altitude: 2700 m
Day 3 Mandara HUT – Horombo Hut
After a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast, we emerge from the rainforest
and continue on an ascending path, through the heath vegetation. Continue up
into open moorlands where small shrubs are the main vegetation. Stop halfway
for lunch, to enjoy amazing views of Mawenzi. Arrive at the Horombo Huts late
afternoon beneath the spectacular Kibo Summit viewpoint. Temperatures begin
to drop.

● Ascent: 1020 m
● Max. altitude: 3720 m
Day 4 Acclimatization DAY-
An extra day at Horombo hut allows you to acclimatize more to the high altitude
while you enjoy the mountain views. Anyone with signs of altitude sickness
should remain at camp and rest. Otherwise, we will take a short hike to the
famous Zebra Rocks.
● Hiking time: 1 – 2 hours (3 km)
● Ascent: 310 m
● Max. altitude: 4000 m
Day 5 Horombo – Kibo Hut
After breakfast, we enter the wide saddle linking Mawenzi and Kibo, passing through decreasing heath that transforms into a lunar landscape.
After lunch, cross the big saddle to see the upcoming summit ascent up Kibo, which will begin in a few hours. The last spot where water is available is at 4130m. From Kibo Hut, the summit requires a further 1195m ascent. We’ll be ascending the mountain tonight, so it’s important to get some sleep.

Day 6 Kibo Hut – UHURU PEAK – Horombo Hut
Excitement grows as the morning approaches with an early start of 2300hrs. This is the most mentally and physically hard part of the journey. We continue our way to the peak in a switchback shape, attempting to stay warm while focusing on the incredible sense of accomplishment that awaits us.
We will hike via hard scree and maybe snow to Gillman’s Point on the crater rim via switchbacks. A breathtaking sunrise near Stella Point. The remaining one-hour hike to Uhuru Peak may involve snowfall.
Congratulations for reaching Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point and Mount Kilimanjaro’s summit! we will descend to Kibo for breakfast and rest,and continue on to Horombo.

Day 7 Horombo – Mandara- Marangu-Moshi
After the summit, this day tests your limits as you descend. You’ll savor the sight of the vast areas covering to the horizons, moshi town on a clear day, or clouds beneath.

CAVEAT:
- ALWAYS Carry any personal medication in your day pack during the expedition.
- It’s recommended you seek your doctors advice if you have any underlying health condition before you attempt the summit bid.
- Use of metabolism enhancing drugs(Diamox/oxygen drops) is NOT recommended, ONLY to be prescribed by a doctor, preferably before the start and advice on duration of use during the expedition.
TIPS
- The items marked with an asterisk (*) in the list above are absolutely necessary for a safe expedition in the mountains. The items without the asterisk are necessary but greatly increase your comfort on the mountain. If you can access them, we highly recommend you bring them in the porters bag
- Pick brightly colored clothes for the trip. The high visibility comes in handy not only in bad weather and in case you stray from the path, but also for good photos.
- Listen to the directives of the guide, and ask questions as they arise. The biggest asset that you can get from guides is knowledge.
- Be aware of the changes in your body. In case you have extreme symptoms of altitude sickness, let the guide know. And remember, there is no shame in turning back!
- It’s best to bring a notebook. Journal your experiences, thoughts and re-evaluate your plans.
- We’ll be taking 45 mins treks coupled with 15 mins break To snack,rest & Hydrate.
