Overview
Flowing from the high altitude slopes of the Aberdare Ranges in Central Kenya, the Mathioya river is one of the country's most vibrant and historically rich watercourses. Formed by the convergence of the Southern Mathioya and Northern Mathioya rivers near Kangema, it weaves through the fertile, misty hills of Murang'a County before feeding into the Tana River basin which is Crucial to the region’s agricultural backbone.
